The Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts and Culture, Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, participated in the 4th Future Forum, the European Union’s flagship conference on diaspora engagement for development. The event, organized by the EU Global Diaspora Facility (EUDiF), took place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the ICMPD Brussels Mission in Belgium.
The forum brought together global stakeholders to exchange best practices in diaspora engagement, encourage peer-to-peer learning, and strengthen international development networks.
During the Capacity Development Lab and Institutional Partners Side Session, Mrs. Benson-Awoyinka highlighted the Lagos State Government’s heritage initiatives in tourism, creative arts, and entertainment, emphasizing their critical role in promoting cultural identity while contributing to the state’s economic growth.
The Commissioner’s participation underscores Lagos State’s commitment to leveraging diaspora partnerships for sustainable development and global collaboration in the cultural and creative sectors.
