Following the suspension of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise in the Federal Capital Territory on Sunday, October 12, 2025, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the display of the Preliminary Register of Voters (PRV) to allow for claims and objections.
The PRV display, conducted in accordance with Section 19(1) of the 2022 Electoral Act, is ongoing at all sixty-two (62) Registration Areas across the FCT. This register captures the details of all intending voters who recently registered during the suspended CVR exercise.
The display exercise will run daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., beginning Friday, October 17, and concluding Thursday, October 23, 2025. The final day, Thursday, October 23, is set aside specifically for the hearing of claims and objections submitted by voters.
INEC FCT urges all newly registered voters to visit their respective registration centres to verify the accuracy of their details and lodge claims where necessary. Additionally, other members of the public are encouraged to inspect the displayed PRV to raise objections against the inclusion of ineligible persons.
This initiative is part of INEC’s commitment to ensuring a credible and transparent electoral process ahead of forthcoming elections.
