Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have recovered a large number of electronic gadgets during a routine patrol in the Ikeja area of Lagos State. The recovery occurred after two fleeing suspects abandoned two large “Ghana Must Go” bags upon sighting the police near Allen Roundabout, Ikeja.
The incident took place on Sunday, October 5, 2025, at about 5:30 a.m., when the patrol team inspected the abandoned bags and discovered an assortment of valuable items. Among the recovered property were 32 iPhones of different models, 38 smartphones of various brands including Samsung, Redmi, Tecno, and Honor, as well as five laptops, multiple smart wristwatches, AirPods, a Samsung Tab, a Sorapad, and several damaged phones suspected to have been stolen from different parts of Ikeja and its environs.
Speaking on the recovery, the Commander of the Rapid Response Squad, CSP Shola Jejeloye, confirmed that preliminary investigations indicated the items were stolen property hastily abandoned by the suspects to evade arrest. He urged members of the public who may have recently lost their electronic devices to visit the RRS Headquarters in Alausa with verifiable proof of ownership for proper identification and reclaim.
The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Moshood Jimoh, commended the operatives for their vigilance, swift action, and professionalism. He reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to intelligence-led policing, proactive crime prevention, and the enhancement of public safety across Lagos State.
