Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has expressed strong confidence that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will record an overwhelming victory in the state during the 2027 general elections, promising President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that the party will secure 95 percent of total votes cast.
Governor Sani made the bold declaration on Saturday at a mega rally held at Murtala Square, Kaduna, which witnessed a major political realignment as four members of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, five members of the House of Representatives, and thousands of their supporters officially defected to the APC.
The latest defections further strengthened the ruling party’s dominance in the state. The APC now controls 13 out of 16 seats in the House of Representatives, leaving the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with only three. Similarly, in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, the APC now holds 26 seats, compared to the PDP’s eight.
“We don’t have any opposition in Kaduna,” Sani declared to a cheering crowd. “A few months ago, I assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that we were targeting 80 percent of the votes. But today, I’ve raised that target — Kaduna will deliver 95 percent of the total votes to the APC in 2027.”
The rally, which drew massive attendance from party loyalists across the state, was seen as both a show of strength and a signal of unity within the APC ahead of the next election cycle.
Governor Sani, who has consistently emphasized inclusive governance and grassroots mobilization, said the party’s growing popularity in Kaduna reflects the people’s satisfaction with the Tinubu administration’s reform agenda and the state government’s development strides.
The event was attended by top political figures, traditional rulers, and members of the APC national and state executives, who lauded the Governor’s leadership and commitment to party unity.
