Former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, and current Senator representing the state, Godswill Akpabio, has called on Nigerians living abroad to return home, assuring them that economic hardship is a thing of the past.

Speaking during a public engagement in Uyo, Akpabio emphasized that the country is now offering opportunities for prosperity and growth, urging citizens in the diaspora to contribute to national development by returning home.

“Hunger is over, please come back home. Your country needs your skills, your talents, and your investment. Nigeria is ready for you,” he said.

The senator highlighted government initiatives aimed at creating jobs, boosting agriculture, and supporting entrepreneurship, assuring Nigerians abroad that the time to return is now.

Akpabio’s appeal comes amid ongoing efforts by the federal and state governments to encourage skilled professionals to bring their expertise back to Nigeria, addressing critical sectors such as healthcare, technology, and education.

He urged those considering relocation to weigh the opportunities at home, stressing that contributing to the nation’s growth is not only a patriotic act but also a path to personal and financial fulfillment.
