Ooni of Ife Commends NSCDC for Strengthening National Security

Ile-Ife, Osun State – The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has received high praise from His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, CFR, Ojaja II, the Ooni of Ife, who hailed the Corps as a rapidly advancing force in Nigeria’s internal security landscape.

During a reception at his palace in Ile-Ife, the Ooni welcomed the Commandant General of the NSCDC, Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, and commended the Corps for its professionalism, discipline, and growing tactical efficiency under the current administration. He described the NSCDC as a dependable frontline agency tasked with safeguarding communities, resolving conflicts, defending critical national assets, and ensuring the safety of citizens.

“The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps is now a symbol of hope to our communities. A Corps that listens, responds, and protects with purpose,” the monarch stated, underscoring the Corps’ vital role in national security.

In response, Professor Audi expressed gratitude for the royal recognition and reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to its constitutional mandate. He emphasized that close collaboration with royal institutions is essential, as grassroots intelligence forms the foundation of effective national security operations. He further assured that NSCDC personnel and communities in the region will continue to benefit from strengthened operations, enhanced capacity, and improved intervention capabilities.

The operational tour of Osun State forms part of the Corps’ ongoing efforts to expand its influence and reinforce its mission, anchored on loyalty to the nation, protection of citizens, and the pursuit of peace nationwide.
