The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced the suspension of several top national officers following the outcome of the National Working Committee (NWC) meeting held in Abuja.
Addressing journalists at a press conference, the National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Debo Ologunagba, confirmed that the NWC resolved to suspend the National Legal Adviser, the Deputy National Legal Adviser, the National Secretary, and the National Organizing Secretary over what he described as “internal breaches and conduct inconsistent with the party’s constitution.”
Ologunagba stated that the decision was reached after a careful review of reports submitted to the committee, emphasizing that the move was necessary to preserve the integrity, unity, and discipline of the PDP.
“The NWC has a responsibility to uphold the sanctity of our constitution and ensure that the actions of party officials reflect the values and vision of the PDP. These suspensions are not punitive but corrective measures aimed at restoring internal order and accountability,” Ologunagba said.
He added that the affected officers have been directed to hand over all party properties and documents in their possession pending the conclusion of an investigation by the disciplinary committee.
The PDP spokesman reassured members and supporters that the party remains committed to transparency, internal democracy, and credible leadership as it continues preparations for future elections.
