Two farmers were brutally killed on Sunday morning after being ambushed by armed bandits near Mamman Yarwa village in Tabani Ward, Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State. The victims were reportedly on their way to the farm when they were attacked and shot dead by the assailants.

According to local sources, concerned community members who noticed the farmers’ prolonged absence organized a search party but were also ambushed by the bandits, forcing them to retreat. Security operatives later arrived at the scene, engaged the attackers in a gun battle, and successfully recovered the bodies of the slain farmers.

The incident adds to the growing wave of insecurity in Kaduna State, where farmers, traders, and travelers have increasingly become targets of violent attacks and kidnappings. Residents say the persistent assaults have instilled fear across rural communities, disrupting farming and local trade activities.

Security forces have since intensified patrols and surveillance operations across Birnin Gwari and neighboring areas, assuring the public of ongoing efforts to track down the perpetrators and restore peace to the troubled region.
