Bar Ifeanyi Ejiofor has raised serious concerns about the ongoing violence targeting Christians in Northern Nigeria, often attributed to so-called “extremists.” His remarks were made via an X post titled “For Those Attributing the Ongoing Genocide Against Christians to ‘Extremists’.”

In the post, Ejiofor questioned the identity and motives of these extremists, urging a closer look at their religious ideology, background, and doctrinal foundation. He also probed their broader agenda, asking whether ethnic or religious cleansing is part of it, and called for investigation into who created or enabled these groups, including identifying their financiers and sponsors.

Ejiofor further questioned who supplies the extremists with sophisticated arms and logistics, and who might be shielding, excusing, or condoning their atrocities. He also highlighted the relentless and consistent nature of the attacks, which appear to embolden the perpetrators.

A gory video clip reportedly showing another brutal attack on Christians in Benue State recently surfaced, though it is still under verification. If confirmed, it would provide further evidence of the recurring violence.

He warned that history will judge those who stay silent in the face of such atrocities versus those who speak truth to power. In his X post, he asked: “Who exactly are these extremists?” “What is their religious ideology, background, and doctrinal foundation?” “What truly constitutes their agenda, is ethnic or religious cleansing a part of their grand design?” “Who created or enabled their emergence?” “Who are their financiers and sponsors?” “Who is supplying them with sophisticated arms and logistics?” “Who is shielding, excusing, or condoning their atrocities under one guise or another?” “And finally, why are they so unrelenting, so consistent, and so emboldened in their brutality?”

Ejiofor’s post serves as a stark warning to authorities and society at large to urgently address the violence and protect vulnerable communities.
