In a significant diplomatic engagement, Nigeria’s delegation met with the President of the Republic of Chad, Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, to strengthen bilateral cooperation and strategic partnership. The meeting also served as a channel to convey a message from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. According to Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, the purpose of the meeting was to reinforce Chad’s role as a vital partner in Nigeria’s fight against terrorism and to enhance overall cooperation between the two nations.

The Chadian President received the delegation, which included Nigeria’s Minister of Budget and Planning, H.E Senator Abubakar Bagudu, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, and officials from the ministry and Nigeria’s Embassy in Abu Dhabi. The meeting reflected high-level engagement aimed at strengthening diplomatic relations and fostering economic collaboration.

Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu emphasized that Nigeria is committed to deepening diplomatic ties and promoting regional stability through strategic security cooperation with Chad. She noted that the talks also focused on creating opportunities for economic partnership, demonstrating both countries’ shared commitment to peace and development in the region.

This engagement marks a continued effort by Nigeria to fortify regional alliances and collaborate with neighboring nations in addressing security challenges, particularly the fight against terrorism in West and Central Africa.
