The Akurmi Youth Development Association (AYDA) has strongly condemned the brutal attack that took place in Gidan Waya community, Yarkasuwa, Lere Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on the night of November 11, 2025.
In a statement signed by its National Chairman, Comrade Idris Inuwa Ukissa, the association expressed deep sorrow and outrage over the killing of innocent residents and the abduction of several others, including women and children, during the assault.
Describing the incident as a painful reminder of persistent insecurity, AYDA called on the Kaduna State Government and relevant security agencies to take urgent and decisive measures to protect lives and property.
Ukissa personally appealed to Governor Uba Sani, the Chairman of Lere Local Government Area, the Area Commander, and the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) to intensify efforts in ensuring safety across the region. He stressed that human life is sacred, urging authorities to step up surveillance, improve rapid response mechanisms, and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The association also extended its heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives, expressing solidarity with those whose loved ones remain in captivity and praying for the quick recovery of the injured and the safe return of all abducted persons.
In conclusion, Ukissa called for lasting peace and security across all Akurmi communities, adding: “May peace be restored to Gidan Waya and indeed to all parts of our homeland.”
This attack highlights the ongoing security challenges in parts of Kaduna State, underscoring the urgent need for enhanced protective measures and community vigilance.
