LASU Vice-Chancellor Appointed to National Board Driving Digital Transformation in Higher Education

Abuja, Nigeria – Professor Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello, Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU), has been appointed as a member of the Governing Board of the Nigerian Research and Education Network (NgREN)/Tertiary Education Research Applications and Services (TERAS) Integration. The appointment was made by the Federal Ministry of Education and the Federal Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy under the National EdTech Strategy Task Force.

Professor Olatunji-Bello, who also serves as Chairman of the Committee of Vice-Chancellors of State Universities (CVCSU), was recognized for her exemplary leadership in higher education administration and her longstanding commitment to advancing digital transformation in Nigerian tertiary institutions.

The reconstituted Governing Board is set to be inaugurated today, Friday, November 28, 2025, in Abuja during the Mid-term Co-Creation Workshop, a strategic gathering focused on strengthening national educational technology initiatives, research infrastructure, and digital innovation. The Board will play a central role in promoting enhanced connectivity, research collaboration, and digital readiness across higher education institutions in Nigeria.

In a statement, LASU management, staff, and students congratulated Professor Olatunji-Bello, noting: “Her inclusion on the Board is a testament to her distinguished stewardship of LASU, her visionary contributions to the advancement of digital learning, and her unwavering dedication to educational excellence.”
