The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission has denied reports claiming that it arrested or is investigating Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja, describing the allegations as false and misleading. The anti-corruption agency issued the clarification after a viral video circulated widely on social media suggesting that its operatives had apprehended the judge over alleged corruption and misconduct.
In a statement released through its spokesperson, Demola Bakare, the commission said the claims were completely unfounded. According to the agency, Justice Omotosho had neither been arrested nor invited for questioning by the ICPC, and there was no investigation involving him by the commission.
