Troops have arrested a wanted kidnapping suspect over his alleged involvement in an attack on a Point-of-Sale operator in Adamawa State, according to reports published on Friday.

The suspect was apprehended during a covert operation carried out by troops of the 232 Battalion (Tactical) in Loko village, located in Song Local Government Area of Adamawa State. Security sources said the arrest took place at about 10:35 a.m. on April 21.

Authorities said the man is believed to be one of those linked to the March 12, 2026 attack on a POS operator in the area. Further details about the original attack, including the condition or identity of the victim, were not immediately provided in the reports reviewed.

Preliminary findings indicated that the suspect was already on the wanted list of the Department of State Services, commonly known as the DSS. Following his arrest, he was handed over to the agency for further investigation and possible prosecution.

Security sources also stated that operations in the area have been intensified as authorities seek to track down other suspected members of the criminal network.

Incidents targeting POS operators have drawn concern in several parts of Nigeria, where agents often handle significant daily cash transactions and can become targets for robbery or kidnapping gangs.
