The Youth Wing of the Gwandara Development and Cultural Association (GWADECA) in Kokona Local Government Area has officially distanced itself from reports claiming that Gwandara youths endorsed Speaker Danladi Jatau for the 2027 House of Representatives race for the Karu, Keffi, and Kokona Federal Constituency. In a press disclaimer signed by the President of the GWADECA Youth Wing, Onkpoku Paul, the group described the publication by Nasarawa Mirror titled “2027: Gwandara Youths Back Danladi Jatau On Karu, Keffi, Kokona Reps Bid” as misleading and not representative of the official position of Gwandara youths in Kokona Local Government Area.
According to the statement, the association did not authorize, endorse, or mandate any individual or group to speak on behalf of Gwandara youths regarding any political aspiration or endorsement. The group clarified that those reported to have declared support for the aspiration acted strictly in their personal capacity and not on behalf of the organization. GWADECA further reaffirmed its status as a nonpartisan socio‑cultural organization committed to operating in line with its constitution, which emphasizes neutrality, unity, peace, development, and the protection of Gwandara cultural identity. The association called on the public to disregard the publication, insisting that any official position of Gwandara youths would only be communicated through the legitimate structures of the organization.
The disclaimer was signed by Onkpoku Paul, President of the GWADECA Youth Wing for Kokona Local Government Area. The statement concluded with a renewed commitment to protecting the collective integrity and interests of Gwandara youths across Kokona. As political consultations intensify ahead of the 2027 elections, the clarification serves as a reminder that endorsements from cultural and youth groups must be verified through proper channels to avoid misinformation.
