The Delta State Police Command has arrested three female suspects, including a 25‑year‑old woman alleged to be a drug baron, following a targeted raid on a suspected drug hideout in Warri. The operation, which took place at about 9:20 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026, was carried out by operatives of the Area Command in Effurun acting on credible intelligence about drug trafficking activities in the Ogbomoro and Ugolo communities.
Acting on a search warrant, the police team stormed the hideout along River Road in the Ogbomoro community. During the search, officers arrested 25‑year‑old Favor Isaac, described by police as a suspected drug baron, alongside her alleged accomplices Favour Felix, 24, and Samson Precious, 19.
A large quantity of illicit substances was recovered from the apartment. The items seized included 21 bottles of codeine, two canisters of nitrous oxide (commonly known as “laughing gas”), two packs of a suspected psychoactive chewing gum branded “Highness Gum”, and 640 grams of a substance suspected to be Canadian Loud cannabis, which was concealed in various containers.
Preliminary investigations have identified a suspect named Rukewe Tega Isaac, currently at large, as the alleged main supplier behind the drug network. Police have stated that efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspect and completely dismantle the syndicate.
The Commissioner of Police in Delta State, CP Yemi Oyeniyi, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to intensifying operations against drug trafficking and related crimes. He warned that the abuse of illicit substances continues to fuel violent crime and social vices among young people, and urged the public to provide timely and useful information to support law enforcement efforts.
Police spokesperson SP Bright Edafe confirmed the development in a statement issued on Monday, May 11, in Asaba. All three suspects are currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the drug network operating in the Warri area.
