A road traffic accident involving a passenger vehicle conveying traders to Soro Market has left several people feared injured after the vehicle reportedly crashed near Nahuta, along the Yalwan Darazo junction in Darazo Local Government Area of Bauchi State, on Saturday morning, May 30, 2026.
The vehicle was said to be transporting residents from Darazo and surrounding communities to Soro Market, a major weekly trading point in the area, when the crash occurred along the rural route commonly used by commercial drivers and traders. The exact circumstances leading to the accident remain unclear at this stage.
Eyewitnesses at the scene reported that the vehicle lost control before the crash, triggering panic among passengers and other road users. Several occupants were said to have sustained varying degrees of injuries, with some reportedly trapped momentarily inside the vehicle before being rescued by bystanders and fellow motorists who stopped to assist.
The injured passengers were reportedly evacuated to nearby health facilities within Darazo and surrounding communities for emergency treatment. However, the exact number of victims, their identities, and the severity of injuries have not yet been officially confirmed by authorities.
Local residents said the road segment around Nahuta and Yalwan Darazo junction is frequently used during market days and often experiences heavy movement of commercial vehicles, motorcycles, and private transport operators.
