The United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has deported a 53‑year‑old Nigerian national, Olatunde Abiodun Olusanjo, after he was arrested in Los Angeles over prior criminal convictions for child molestation, sexual battery, and soliciting lewd conduct, according to multiple reports. Olusanjo was taken into custody on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, by officers of the Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) unit in Los Angeles and was subsequently placed in removal proceedings. A video shared by the Los Angeles ERO office on its official X channel showed Olusanjo in handcuffs being escorted from an ICE vehicle, with a narrator identifying him as a “criminal illegal alien and convicted sex offender”.

ICE confirmed that Olusanjo had previous arrests for child molestation, sexual battery, and soliciting lewd conduct. At the time of his arrest, the agency stated that he was being held pending removal. The Los Angeles ERO office announced the arrest on April 25, 2026, via its official X account, describing the suspect as a “criminal illegal alien and convicted sex offender”. The announcement was accompanied by a video showing Olusanjo in handcuffs being escorted from an ICE vehicle into custody. The narrator in the clip stated: “Los Angeles ICE arrested criminal illegal alien and convicted sex offender Olatunde Abiodun Olusanjo on April 21, 2026, a citizen of Nigeria. Olusanjo’s criminal record includes child molestation, sexual battery, and sexual solicitation.”

Olusanjo’s deportation is part of broader enforcement actions by US immigration authorities targeting foreign nationals with prior criminal convictions. In February 2026, the US Department of Homeland Security announced the arrest of 79 Nigerians described as among the “worst of the worst” criminal offenders, facing charges ranging from sexual assault and fraud to manslaughter, drug smuggling, kidnapping, and robbery. As of the time of this report, Olusanjo has been deported from the United States.
