The National Youth Service Corps has officially announced that the 2026 Batch 'B' Stream II Orientation Course will commence nationwide on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, with the three-week exercise scheduled to run simultaneously across all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory until Tuesday, August 25, 2026. The scheme disclosed this in a statement issued on Monday, July 20, 2026, by its Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, confirming that the orientation programme will take place concurrently in all orientation camps across the country.
According to the NYSC, prospective corps members can now access their Call-up Numbers through their online dashboards, while Call-up Letters containing details of their states of deployment and other relevant information will be made available in due course. "Accordingly, Call-up Numbers have been uploaded to the dashboards of prospective Corps Members, while Call-up Letters will be made available in due course," the statement read. The announcement comes after the successful conclusion of the 2026 Batch 'B' Stream I orientation exercise, which was held nationwide from June 10 to June 30.
The Director-General of the NYSC, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, congratulated all prospective corps members mobilised for the 2026 Batch 'B' Stream II service year on the successful completion of their studies in higher institutions within and outside Nigeria, which has qualified them for national service. He also advised the prospective corps members to prioritise their safety while travelling to their respective orientation camps, strongly urging them to avoid travelling at night. "He wishes them a safe journey to their respective Orientation Camps and strongly advises them to avoid travelling at night. The Director General also urges them to strictly adhere to all travel and safety guidelines throughout their journey to the camps," the statement added. The NYSC boss further encouraged the corps members to comply with all travel and safety guidelines throughout their journey to the camps.
The three-week orientation programme, which will be held simultaneously in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, is a critical component of the national service year, designed to prepare corps members for their roles in national development through a series of physical, educational, and skills development activities. Prospective corps members have been advised to check their NYSC dashboards regularly for updates on their Call-up Letters and other important information regarding the orientation exercise.
