The wife of the Anambra State Governor, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo, has dismissed as false a message circulating on social media claiming she is scheduled to visit Owerre-Ezukala in Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State.

In a statement released on Thursday, July 23, 2026, through the Senior Media Aide to the Governor, Mr. Ezeigwe Daniel, Mrs. Soludo described the message as fraudulent and urged residents, particularly women in the community, not to act on it.

According to the statement, the false message, which has been circulating on various WhatsApp groups, claimed that the Governor’s wife would visit Owerre-Ezukala on an undisclosed date and invited community members to gather at Okegbe Health Centre to receive her.

The statement stressed that the information did not originate from Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo or the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, describing it as completely fabricated.

“Our attention has been drawn to a message currently being circulated on certain WhatsApp groups claiming that Her Excellency, Dr. Mrs. Nonye Soludo, Wife of the Governor of Anambra State, is scheduled to visit Owerre-Ezukala and calling on community members to gather at the Okegbe Health Centre to receive her.

“This information is completely false and did not originate from the Governor’s Wife or the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative,” the statement said.

Mrs. Soludo advised members of the public, especially residents of Owerre-Ezukala, to disregard the message and refrain from forwarding or acting on unverified information.

She noted that all official engagements and activities of the Governor’s wife are communicated only through verified government channels and authorised announcements.

The statement further urged the public to verify information before sharing it in order to prevent the spread of misinformation, confusion and unnecessary anxiety within communities.

The warning comes amid increasing concerns over the circulation of false information on social media platforms, particularly through WhatsApp, where fake announcements and impersonation messages have become more common.

Residents were encouraged to rely only on official communication from the Anambra State Government and the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative for information regarding the Governor’s wife's programmes and public engagements.
