Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has promised to deliver more developmental projects for the people of the state if he secures a second term in office.
Adeleke made the pledge during the Imole Campaign Council’s consultation and mobilisation tour ahead of the Osun governorship election. The governor spoke during visits to Erin-Osun and Ilobu communities in Irepodun Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Adeleke said his administration had fulfilled the promises made to residents during the 2022 election campaign and would continue to raise the standard of governance if given another mandate.
“When we came here in 2022, I promised you good governance, and I have fulfilled what I promised. But the people have not seen anything yet. We will do much more for Osun State,” Adeleke said.
The governor highlighted his administration’s achievements and appealed to residents to support his re-election bid, promising that his second term would bring further improvements across the state.
The campaign event attracted political stakeholders, traditional rulers and community leaders from Irepodun Local Government Area.
Former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Lasun Yusuf, who represented other stakeholders in the area, expressed confidence in Adeleke’s leadership and pledged support for his second-term ambition.
Yusuf said the governor had earned the backing of the people and assured him of strong support during the August 15 governorship election.
Traditional rulers in Erin-Osun and Ilobu also expressed support for Adeleke’s administration. The Elerin of Erin-Osun, Oba Yusuf Adekunle, offered prayers for the governor’s success and said residents would continue to assess his leadership based on his performance.
Similarly, the Olobu of Ilobu, Oba Ashiru Olatoye, assured the governor and members of the Imole Campaign Council of the community’s support, expressing confidence that the people of Irepodun Local Government Area would support his re-election effort.
Osun State is preparing for its governorship election scheduled for August 15, with several political parties expected to participate in the contest. The election will determine who leads the state for the next four years.
Adeleke, who emerged governor after the 2022 election, is seeking another term amid ongoing political competition in the state. His campaign has focused on highlighting his administration’s achievements and presenting plans for further development.
As the election approaches, political parties and candidates are expected to intensify campaigns across Osun, with voters set to decide the future direction of the state.
