The Kebbi State Hisbah Board has announced a total ban on all sign-out processions and celebrations marking the completion of secondary school examinations in both public and private schools across the state. The directive was issued on Wednesday, July 23, 2026, through a statement signed by the Board's Director of Shari'ah, Surajo Usman Kamba, in Birnin Kebbi.
According to the statement, principals and proprietors of all public and private secondary schools have been directed not to organise or permit sign-out processions, graduation celebrations, or any related gatherings after students conclude their examinations. The Board explained that the decision was taken to protect the moral upbringing of students and to ensure that post-examination activities conform with Islamic teachings and the cultural values of Kebbi State. "This measure is aimed at safeguarding the moral upbringing of our young people and promoting compliance with Islamic teachings and the cherished values of the people of Kebbi State," the statement added.
The Hisbah Board appealed to parents, school administrators, and other stakeholders to support the directive by ensuring strict compliance. The Board reaffirmed its commitment to promoting discipline, morality and social order across the state as part of its mandate to uphold ethical and religious values. The ban applies to all sign-out events or gatherings linked to the completion of secondary school examinations. The decision is part of broader efforts to curb perceived excesses and immoral activities often associated with such celebrations.
