The wife of Anambra State Governor, Dr. Nonye Soludo, has poured out her heart in a deeply personal birthday tribute to her husband, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, as he marked his 66th birthday on Tuesday, July 28, 2026. In a message shared on social media and widely reported by national newspapers, the Anambra First Lady described the governor as a visionary leader whose life exemplifies courage, compassion, and unwavering commitment to public service.

Dr. Soludo expressed immense joy at sharing life's journey with the governor, stating that she would gladly choose to do so again in another lifetime. "Happy Birthday, my darling; a man whose life is a daily reminder that purpose, vision, and compassion can truly transform lives," she wrote. She added: "Watching you lead with courage, serve with conviction, and remain steadfast in your commitment to the greater good inspires me every day. It's such a privilege to walk this journey beside you, and if there's another life after this, I'd do it again and again with you".

Addressing the governor by his traditional title, Odenigbo, the First Lady prayed for continued strength, wisdom, and greater impact in the years ahead. "As you celebrate another remarkable year, may God continue to strengthen you, grant you wisdom beyond measure, and crown all your efforts with even greater impact. Happy Birthday, Odenigbo. Wishing you many more years of good health, peace, joy, and fulfilled purpose. I love you," she said. The tribute was shared under her HealthyLivingWithNonyeSoludo initiative, a platform through which the First Lady regularly champions wellness and family values in Anambra State.

The governor's birthday was also marked by a significant healthcare initiative. A medical outreach organised by the Friends of Governor Chukwuma Soludo commenced in honour of his birthday and that of his wife, offering free medical screening, treatment, and surgeries to residents of Anambra State. The programme covers free myomectomy for women with fibroids and ovarian cysts, as well as other surgical interventions, including cataract surgery, glaucoma screening and treatment, and hernia surgeries at designated hospitals across the state. Speaking at the Enugu-Ukwu General Hospital, the Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Dozie Udeolisa, described the initiative as a life-changing intervention that is giving many women access to surgery they could not previously afford.

President Bola Tinubu also joined in celebrating the governor, commending him for his bold and disciplined leadership. In a congratulatory message issued by his Spokesperson, Mr. Bayo Onanuga, the President described Soludo as an exceptional economist whose tenure as Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria produced one of the country's most impactful banking sector reforms. Tinubu further characterised the Anambra governor as an outlier who has successfully brought the rigour, brilliance, and discipline of pedagogy into politics, praising his commitment to transformative leadership. The President also prayed for God to grant Governor Soludo many more years of good health, strength, and wisdom to deepen his transformative leadership in Anambra State and Nigeria.

Governor Soludo, a renowned economist and former Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, assumed office as the Executive Governor of Anambra State on March 17, 2022. His 66th birthday celebration comes as he continues his second tenure, having been inaugurated for a second term on March 17, 2026. His administration has been marked by efforts to improve security, economic transformation, and infrastructure expansion across the state. The outpouring of tributes from his wife, the President, and the healthcare initiative launched in his honour reflect the broad recognition of his contributions to both the state and the nation.
