The Oyo State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Mr. Kayode Ola Peters, has reaffirmed the Scheme’s unwavering commitment to deepening its strategic partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in advancing road safety awareness, youth development, and national service. He made this known while receiving the Oyo State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Corps Commander Kehinde S. Dahunsi, who paid him a familiarisation visit at the NYSC Oyo State Secretariat following his assumption of office. The visit, which took place on Monday, July 27, 2026, underscored the shared resolve of both organisations to strengthen institutional collaboration towards promoting safer roads, responsible citizenship, and sustainable community development across Oyo State.
Speaking during the courtesy visit, Corps Commander Kehinde S. Dahunsi stated that the engagement was aimed at formally introducing himself to the NYSC leadership while exploring opportunities to consolidate the long-standing relationship between both organisations. He described the NYSC as a dependable and strategic partner whose nationwide structure and vibrant corps membership continue to serve as valuable assets in driving road safety education and community-oriented initiatives. The Sector Commander commended the dedication, discipline, and professionalism consistently displayed by Corps members serving in the FRSC Community Development Service (CDS) group, noting that their contributions have significantly enhanced public enlightenment campaigns, traffic management support, and other life-saving interventions across the state. He therefore appealed for the sustained deployment of Corps members to the FRSC CDS group in order to build on the remarkable successes already recorded.
Responding, the State Coordinator, Mr. Kayode Ola Peters, warmly welcomed the Sector Commander and his entourage, expressing profound appreciation to the Federal Road Safety Corps for its unwavering support and enduring partnership with the Scheme. He noted that the cordial relationship between the NYSC and the FRSC has continued to yield meaningful results through collaborative programmes that protect lives, instil discipline, and encourage positive civic engagement among young graduates. According to him, the partnership remains one of the finest examples of effective inter-agency collaboration in advancing national development and promoting the ideals upon which the NYSC was established.
Mr. Peters further appealed to the FRSC to sustain its invaluable support to the NYSC, particularly during Orientation Courses and other official engagements where road safety and traffic management play critical roles in ensuring the safety and welfare of Corps members and camp officials. He reaffirmed the Scheme’s readiness to continue working closely with the Corps in delivering impactful programmes that promote public safety and strengthen national unity. “We have always enjoyed a robust and enviable relationship with the Federal Road Safety Corps, and we urge you to sustain this progressive cordiality.
