Residents of Aujarawar Alkali community in Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State have been left in fear after armed bandits abducted the village head, Alhaji Ahmad Yakubu Ahmad, popularly known as Ruwata, during a late-night attack on the community.
The incident occurred on Thursday night, September 17, 2026, in Aujarawar Alkali, within Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State, where Ahmad Yakubu Ahmad serves as village head. The attackers reportedly stormed the community while armed with sophisticated weapons and took the traditional ruler away to an undisclosed destination. The abduction was confirmed on Friday by Mahi Isma’il, spokesperson to the Zannan Kano and District Head of Jogana, Alhaji Abdulkadir Ma’aji, who described the incident as a serious setback to the peace and security of the area.

Available accounts indicate that the assailants arrived during the night and were able to reach the traditional ruler before leaving the area with him.
