Former Kaduna State Commissioner and governorship aspirant, Ja'afaru Ibrahim Sani, has formally withdrawn his membership of the African Democratic Congress. In a letter dated September 18, 2026, and addressed to the ADC Ward Chairman in Anchau Ward, Kubau Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Sani announced that his resignation takes immediate effect.
Sani, who described himself as one of the founding members of the ADC in Kaduna State and the North-West, expressed appreciation to the party for the opportunity to serve in various capacities.
He previously served as Commissioner for Local Government Affairs under former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and as the ADC's National Vice Chairman, North-West. His withdrawal comes amid political realignments involving prominent figures in Kaduna State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
