A Nigerian tailor from Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi State is on the run in Niger Republic after allegedly stabbing his business partner to death in a fit of rage that has left two families shattered and a community in shock. The suspect, identified as Mas'udu Saidu Gulma, is accused of attacking his colleague, Mas'udu M. Sani from Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State, at their shared tailoring shop in Niger Republic on Tuesday night, September 22, 2026.
According to reports, the two men, both Nigerians working together in the same tailoring shop, had a heated argument on Tuesday night before going to bed. The nature of the dispute has not been disclosed, but whatever was said or done during that argument appears to have been severe enough to trigger a deadly response. The suspect allegedly waited until his colleague was asleep, then woke up, picked up a knife, and attacked him.
Neighbours heard the victim crying for help around midnight and rushed to his aid. They found him with severe stab wounds and immediately transported him to a hospital. Doctors reportedly battled to save his life, performing surgery until about 3 a.m., but their efforts were in vain. Mas'udu M. Sani was pronounced dead.
The suspect fled the scene immediately after the attack and remains at large. Nigerien police have been alerted and a manhunt is underway. A photograph of the suspect has been circulated as authorities seek to apprehend him and bring him to justice.
