At least two people have been injured in a multiple-vehicle crash involving two container trucks and three other vehicles at Apostolic, inward Alapere, in Lagos State.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident, which occurred on Thursday, October 8, 2026, and said its officials responded alongside personnel of the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps and the police.
According to LASTMA, the collision involved two 40-foot containerised trucks and three other vehicles. Two people sustained injuries of varying degrees, although further details about their identities and medical conditions were not immediately available.
The agency said its officials secured the scene to prevent secondary accidents, managed traffic and coordinated recovery operations to remove the affected vehicles.
The crash caused a traffic backlog along the route towards the old Toll Gate as emergency and traffic management personnel worked to clear the affected section.
The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) later reported that the accident scene at Chinatown, inward Alapere Bus Stop, had been cleared and normal traffic movement restored.
LASEMA said its response team worked with LASTMA, the Federal Road Safety Corps, the Lagos Neighbourhood Safety Corps and the police to secure the scene and recover the affected vehicles.
The agency reported that no life was lost in the incident it responded to, while a truck driver who sustained a minor head injury received first aid and was evacuated to a nearby hospital.
Authorities have continued to urge motorists and operators of heavy-duty vehicles to exercise caution and ensure their vehicles are roadworthy to reduce the risk of avoidable accidents.
