A man identified as Ahmed Zakka, who was abducted by suspected bandits in Kaduna State, has appealed for help in a video recorded while in captivity, raising renewed concerns over the safety of his wife and infant child, who are also being held by the kidnappers.

The video, which circulated on Sunday, October 11, 2026, shows Zakka appealing for intervention to secure the family’s release. Reports identified him as one of the victims abducted from Millennium City, a residential area in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The development has triggered calls for urgent intervention by security agencies, government authorities and other individuals who may be able to assist in securing the victims’ freedom.

The abduction is linked to a raid on Alrahus Estate in Millennium City on the night of Monday, October 5. Reports published after the incident said suspected bandits moved from house to house, abducting a pregnant woman, a man, his wife and their six-month-old baby.

Abdulladir Bello, the husband of the pregnant woman, reportedly said he was in Abuja when his wife alerted him that armed men were attempting to enter their compound. He said he tried contacting the police before reaching out to the military, which he said deployed personnel to the area.

The incident added to concerns over repeated kidnappings in Millennium City and neighbouring communities, where residents have continued to call for stronger security measures.

Zakka’s video has renewed attention on the plight of families held by armed groups and the urgent need for efforts to secure their safe return.

As of Sunday, October 11, there was no verified public confirmation of the victims’ release. Details about the abductors’ current location, any ransom demands connected specifically to Zakka’s family, and the status of rescue efforts were not independently established in the reports reviewed.

The victims’ families and residents continue to hope for their safe return, while authorities face renewed calls to intensify efforts to rescue those still in captivity.
