The Chairman of the Abia State Council of Traditional Rulers, Eze Linus Nto Mbah (LINTO), has lauded Governor Alex Otti’s administration following the approval of a $125 million financing facility from the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) to support the Abia State Integrated Infrastructure Development Project.

The facility was approved on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, during the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting presided over by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Speaking on the development, Eze Mbah said the funding would greatly accelerate infrastructural transformation in Abia State, particularly in road construction and erosion control.

According to him, the project covers:

  • 126 kilometres of road network in Aba

  • 35.57 kilometres of road in Umuahia

  • Critical erosion control works across vulnerable communities

The royal father stressed that the projects would reduce travel time, create job opportunities, and tackle the menace of erosion that has long threatened parts of the state.

Eze Mbah commended Governor Otti for restoring credibility in governance, saying the administration’s transparent and accountable approach has earned the trust of leading international development institutions.

“This administration has drawn the attention of multilateral and bilateral partners who are now eager to support the Governor’s transformation agenda,” he said.

The monarch, who also serves as the Traditional Ruler of AtaIgboukwu Kingdom, Umuzomgbo, Arochukwu LGA, thanked President Tinubu for granting approval for the facility. He also expressed appreciation to Abia State’s international partners for their collaboration in securing the financing.

Eze Mbah emphasized that the project marks a turning point for Abia’s development journey, reinforcing confidence that the state is on track to achieve long-term growth and prosperity.
