Osun PDP Calls for Calm Amid Vote of No Confidence in Ife Federal Constituency

The Osun State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has reacted to a communiqué issued by some stakeholders in Ife Federal Constituency on September 1, 2025, where a vote of no confidence was reportedly passed on key leaders of the party.

In a statement signed by the State Chairman, Hon. Sunday Bisi, the party directed all members in the constituency to suspend actions that could escalate the situation, urging them to maintain status quo in line with PDP’s conflict resolution mechanisms.

Reaffirming its respect for party leaders, the Osun PDP emphasized the critical roles of His Excellency, Prince Kola Adewusi, Deputy Governor of Osun State, and Prof. Wale Oladipo, member of the PDP Board of Trustees. The party stated that grievances against such leaders must be addressed through internal mechanisms rather than unilateral pronouncements.

The PDP further warned that actions undermining the party’s authority or flouting its rules would not be tolerated. It assured members that steps were being taken to summon stakeholders to a reconciliation meeting, with the aim of resolving disputes as one family.

The statement concluded with a call for unity, urging all factions in Ife Federal Constituency to sheath their swords and embrace peace in the interest of the party and the people of Osun State.
