The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), hosted a Malian delegation on a study tour at the NIS Service Headquarters in Abuja. The visit aimed to foster mutual engagement between both institutions and advance regional cooperation in migration management.
The programme included paper presentations, on-site tours of facilities, and interactive sessions designed to facilitate knowledge exchange, technology transfer, and experience sharing. Participants gained valuable insights into operational best practices, while discussions reinforced the collective commitment to building stronger frameworks for collaboration, security, and cross-border management within the sub-region.
The study tour highlights Nigeria’s leadership in migration management and reflects an increasing trend toward regional collaboration to address cross-border challenges. By sharing expertise and strengthening institutional ties, the initiative enhances the capacity of both countries to manage migration effectively, ensuring security while promoting cooperation across West Africa.
