At a high-profile session of the National Economic Council (NEC), presided over by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the federal government unveiled the framework for the Renewed Hope Economic Plan, a bold and strategic initiative aimed at propelling Nigeria toward a $1 trillion economy.
The comprehensive plan, which builds on existing national policies, is designed to align with the long-term objectives of Nigeria Agenda 2050. It seeks to ensure that the country’s growth trajectory remains inclusive, resilient, and sustainable, while creating avenues for accelerated economic development across multiple sectors.
Set to succeed the National Development Plan 2021–2025, the Renewed Hope Economic Plan focuses on consolidating previous gains, implementing deep structural reforms, and unlocking new growth opportunities in critical areas such as infrastructure, industry, agriculture, technology, and trade. The plan provides a clear roadmap for economic transformation, ensuring that progress benefits all Nigerians.
Speaking on behalf of Imo State, Governor Hope Uzodimma affirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting the national economic vision. He highlighted the state’s readiness to leverage emerging opportunities under the framework and expressed optimism that the strategy would yield unprecedented outcomes for the people of Imo State.
“This framework presents a unique opportunity for states to align with national goals while harnessing their local potential. Imo State remains strategically positioned to take advantage of the emerging opportunities, and we are confident that the plan will translate into tangible economic benefits for our citizens,” Governor Uzodimma said.
