The Vice President of Colombia, Francia Márquez, touched down in Abuja on Saturday for a three-day official working visit aimed at strengthening ties between Nigeria and Colombia.
She was welcomed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport by a delegation of senior Nigerian government officials, including the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Chief Uche Nnaji; Minister of Women Affairs, Hon. Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim; Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory, Dr. Mariya Mahmud Bunkure; and the Director-General of the National Emergency Management Agency, Mrs. Zubaida Umar.
Vice President Márquez, accompanied by her husband, Rafael Yerney Pinillo Ocoró, is expected to engage Nigerian leaders on key areas of mutual interest such as trade, agriculture, energy, security, education, and governance.
Diplomatic observers say the visit will provide a platform for both countries to expand cooperation and explore new opportunities that could benefit their citizens.
