The 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland-designate, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rasheed Adewolu Ladoja, has formally endorsed Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, for a second term in office.

Oba Ladoja, a former Senator and Governor of Oyo State, gave the endorsement during a congratulatory visit by Governor Adeleke to his Ibadan residence ahead of the monarch’s official coronation, slated for September 26, 2025.

Drawing parallels between their shared paths in politics and public service, the Olubadan commended Governor Adeleke’s performance, describing it as remarkable and worthy of continuity.

“Every day we hear of your good works in Osun State, and we are proud of the progress you are bringing to your people. Your developmental strides should continue beyond 2026 because no one can stop the good work you are doing. I will personally attend your second-term swearing-in as Olubadan of Ibadan, because one good term deserves another,” the monarch declared.

Oba Ladoja praised Adeleke's ability to govern a challenging state like Osun with vision and effectiveness, adding:

“Your performance as a Governor elates me. Osun is a difficult state to govern but you have changed the narrative. You are doing many wonderful things, and I can see Osun people are happy with you. Keep it up. My prayer for you is that you will lead Osun to new and greater heights. You will overcome all obstacles on your path of governance.”

Reflecting on the Adeleke family’s political legacy, the monarch stated:

“You are from a family of excellent people—your father, Senator Adeleke, and your brother, my own Serubawon, were both outstanding. Thank you for keeping the flag flying.”

In his remarks, Governor Adeleke warmly congratulated Oba Ladoja on his elevation to the revered throne of Ibadanland, calling it a historic and well-deserved ascension.

“Kabiyesi, I deeply appreciate your guidance and wise counsel. Your leadership legacy continues to inspire me in Osun State. I pray for long life, filled with peace, joy, happiness, and divine blessings on the throne of your forefathers,” Governor Adeleke said.

He also pledged to support and honor the Olubadan during his coronation ceremony.

Governor Adeleke was accompanied by a high-level delegation, including the Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Teslim Igbalaye; Chief of Staff, Alhaji Kazeem Akinleye; Yeyelua Modupeola Sanni-Adeleke, and Commissioners Otunba Tola Faseru, Hon. Olatunji Ayofe, Hon. Biyi Odunlade, and Hon. Soji Ajeigbe.
