
The House Committee on Federal Character, chaired by Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, CON, Deputy Speaker of the 9th House of Representatives, engaged with the leadership of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), alongside management teams from the College of Education (Technical), Ekiadolor, and the Federal College of Education, Gwoza.
The discussions centered on assessing the institutions’ adherence to Federal Character principles, which are intended to ensure fairness, inclusion, and equity in recruitment, appointments, and the allocation of opportunities within government establishments.
Rt. Hon. Wase reaffirmed the Committee’s commitment to ensuring all government agencies uphold these constitutional principles. He highlighted that strict adherence to Federal Character remains essential for promoting national unity, inclusiveness, and equal representation across Nigeria.
The Committee assured the institutions of ongoing oversight and collaboration to strengthen systems that guarantee transparency, equity, and fairness in line with its constitutional mandate.
