Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has approved the construction of access roads and a comprehensive drainage system in the Badariya area of Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area. A formal agreement was signed on Wednesday at the Ministry of Works between the Commissioner, Hon. Engr. Abdullahi Umar Faruq Muslim, representing the State Government, and Bashar Shamaki, Director of B-Tech Global Investment Services Limited, the contracted construction firm.
The project entails the construction of four roads with an integrated drainage system, covering a total of 2.145 kilometers, at a cost of N2.174 billion. It is scheduled for completion within an 18-month timeframe. Engr. Muslim described Badariya as one of the most densely populated areas in the state capital, prompting the governor to expand road infrastructure to meet residents’ needs.
“The era of substandard projects in Kebbi State is over. His Excellency, Comrade Dr. Nasir Idris, cherishes only top-quality work,” the Commissioner emphasized, directing the construction firm to adhere strictly to the terms of the agreement. Arrangements have been made for the payment of 40% mobilization fees, and the contractor is expected to commence work within two weeks.
Engr. Muslim added that engineers from the Ministry of Works will closely supervise the project to ensure compliance with specifications, reflecting Governor Idris’ commitment to grassroots development and improving the lives of residents.
Bashar Shamaki assured the Ministry of the company’s determination to deliver quality work in line with the agreed standards.
