Warri South Council Boss Holds Special Security Meeting, Urges Proactive Measures

Published on 8 September 2025 at 14:48

The Executive Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Hon. Agbateyiniro Weyinmi Isaac, today held a special security meeting with all security agencies in his office, stressing that the need for peace and harmony in Warri is non-negotiable.

The meeting served as a platform to strengthen coordination among security stakeholders, with the Chairman urging them to adopt proactive strategies in tackling threats before they escalate. He emphasized that by working closely together and sharing intelligence, the agencies would be better positioned to safeguard the lives and property of residents.

While the gathering is expected to enhance collaboration and boost public confidence in local security structures, the Chairman acknowledged that challenges remain. Limited resources, the complexity of emerging threats such as cultism, youth restiveness, and oil bunkering, as well as the need to sustain community trust, are issues that security operatives must continue to navigate.

Hon. Isaac, however, maintained that the larger picture was clear—securing Warri South is critical not only for the wellbeing of its people but also for the stability of Delta State and Nigeria as a whole, given the region’s economic significance. He reiterated his administration’s readiness to support security agencies in their task, assuring that peace remains the foremost priority of his government.
