Young Nigerians between the ages of 18 and 34 remain the largest group with 2,291,809 (64.65%), while students account for 882,441 (24.89%) of the online registrations.
For the in-person registration, which commenced on 25th August 2025, the cumulative figure as of Thursday, 4th September 2025, stands at 288,614. Out of this, 132,634 (45.96%) are male and 155,980 (54.04%) are female. Once again, youths make up the majority with 215,414 (74.64%) aged 18–34, while 114,150 (39.55%) are students.
INEC noted that a detailed breakdown of registrations by state, gender, age, occupation, and disability status has been uploaded to its official platforms for public access.
The Commission expressed appreciation to citizens and organisations mobilising participation but warned against attempts to register underage persons. It emphasised that only Nigerians aged 18 and above are eligible, stressing that it is unlawful to register minors in anticipation of their eligibility for the 2027 general elections.
