Kano Police Conducts 3-Day Explosive Ordnance Awareness Campaign

Published on 13 September 2025 at 09:45

The Kano State Police Command has successfully carried out a three-day Explosive Ordnance Risk Awareness Campaign across strategic locations in the state, targeting scrap dealers, scavengers, and the general public.

The campaign aimed to educate residents on the dangers associated with explosive ordnance and provide guidance on how to respond safely when encountering such devices.

Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP) Cyprian Dariya, the Base Commander for Explosive Ordnance Disposal-Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear (EOD-CBRN), led the awareness drive. He shared critical safety instructions, advising the public to “not move further,” “step back,” “avoid touching” suspicious items, and “immediately call police EOD-CBRN operatives” for assistance.

The initiative underscores the Kano State Police Command’s commitment to public safety, proactive risk management, and community engagement in preventing accidents related to explosive materials.
