The House of Representatives on Monday held its National Public Hearing on the 1999 Constitution Alteration Bills, bringing together Nigerians and stakeholders from diverse sectors to contribute to shaping the nation’s future.
The forum recorded wide participation from traditional and religious leaders, women and youth groups, political parties, civil society organisations, professional bodies, market associations, and advocates for state creation, underscoring the inclusive nature of the exercise.
The event, which builds on earlier zonal hearings across the six geo-political zones, consolidated citizens’ perspectives ahead of legislative consideration.
The House reaffirmed its role as Nigeria’s foremost platform for national dialogue and representation, while stressing the commitment of the 10th Assembly to inclusive and participatory governance.
