Stone Reporters got reports that Bandits have killed 13 people, including three pregnant women, in a night attack on Ngbra Zongo community in Kwall District, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State. The assault allegedly occurred in the early hours of Friday, May 8, 2026, between 12 a.m. and 3 a.m., leaving several others injured and many residents fleeing into nearby bushes for safety.
A community leader, Lawrence Zongo, confirmed the killings on Friday. Zongo said that three of the victims are pregnant women. He described the incident as “very unfortunate because it is the same village that has experienced attack in the past which led to the killing of a pastor and several others.”
According to Zongo, the attackers moved from one house to another, attacking innocent people. Several persons sustained injuries during the raid, and many families fled to escape the violence.
The attack has deepened the sense of insecurity in Bassa LGA, which has witnessed repeated violent incidents over the years.
Residents say the community is still traumatised from previous attacks, and this latest massacre has left them in shock and mourning. As of Friday morning, security personnel had been deployed to the area, and efforts were underway to track down the perpetrators.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. The Plateau State Government and the Police Command have yet to issue an official statement on the incident.
