Ondo Govt Approves N3.5b Counterpart Funding For RAAMP

The Ondo State Government has taken a significant step towards improving rural infrastructure and boosting agricultural productivity in the state. The government has approved a N3.5 billion counterpart fund for the Rural Access and Agricultural Marketing Project (RAAMP), a World Bank-backed initiative aimed at improving rural road infrastructure and boosting agricultural productivity in the state.

In a bid to mitigate the impact of climate change and safeguard vulnerable communities from recurring flood disasters, the state government has approved a comprehensive flood mapping exercise. According to the Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Tob Loko, the initiative reflects the state's commitment to adopting a preventive and data-driven approach to flood management.

The Ministry of Infrastructure will conduct a comprehensive inspection of roads across all 18 local government areas to identify those in critical need of rehabilitation. The government is committed to building durable infrastructure, not temporary fixes. This initiative is expected to improve the overall quality of life for residents and boost economic activity in the state.

The State Executive Council has approved the appointment of two new traditional rulers: Prince Olusola Joseph Ajaka as the pioneer Gbogunro of Idi-Ogba Alagbon in Ilaje Local Government Area, and Prince Isiaka Oseni as the new Alale of Akungba-Akoko in Akoko South West Local Government Area. This development is a testament to the government's commitment to promoting traditional institutions and cultural heritage.

The approval of these initiatives underscores Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa's commitment to the infrastructural development of the state. The government is working tirelessly to improve the lives of residents and boost economic activity in the state.
