The Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of its Assistant Coach, Akin Olowokere, during a training session on Monday.
Eyewitness reports indicate that Olowokere collapsed shortly after announcing the list of players for a practice match. He was rushed to a private hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Olowokere, a former player and coach of Sunshine Stars of Akure, had only recently joined the Oluyole Warriors as part of the new technical crew following the exit of the Gbenga Ogunbote-led coaching team.
His passing has shocked the Nigerian football community, with tributes pouring in from players, officials, and fans who remember him for his passion and dedication to the game.
Details regarding burial arrangements are yet to be announced by the club.
