The Nigeria Police Force has officially confirmed receipt of a petition from the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) regarding an alleged incident involving renowned musician Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1) at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
According to the petition, KWAM 1 is accused of unruly behavior that allegedly obstructed the safe operation of an aircraft, violating provisions of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Regulations, 2023. The reported incident occurred on 5th August 2025.
In swift response, the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has ordered the Commissioner of Police, Airport Command, to launch a comprehensive investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the case.
"The investigation will be thorough, professional, and in line with the rule of law," a police source emphasized.
The IGP further reaffirmed the Force’s unwavering commitment to aviation safety and public order, and assured the NCAA and other aviation stakeholders of enhanced cooperation in ensuring strict compliance with aviation regulations.
“No individual is above the law. We remain dedicated to safeguarding the integrity of Nigeria’s aviation space,” the Force said in a statement.
