Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has handed over brand-new vehicles to 14 Permanent Secretaries in the state public service, in a gesture aimed at boosting efficiency and productivity in government operations.
The symbolic presentation took place on Monday, August 11, 2025, at the Governor’s Office in Alagbaka, Akure, and included four recently retired permanent secretaries appointed during Aiyedatiwa’s tenure.
Speaking at the event, the Governor explained that the vehicles were meant to support senior civil servants in performing their duties with ease and efficiency.
“I think about 14 of you, the first batch of my permanent secretaries, and I know four of you have retired. But because I appointed them, we will not deprive them of that entitlement. This is to help you be more productive, move around, and do your job without delay,” he said.
Head of Service, Mr. Bayo Philip, commended the Governor for his consistent support to the civil service, describing him as a leader committed to keeping the state’s administrative machinery running smoothly.
In her vote of thanks, Mrs. Foluke Tunde-Daramola, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, said the gesture aligns with the Governor’s “OUR EASE” agenda, portraying him as “a good father to the people of the state.” She assured that all permanent secretaries would remain loyal and deliver on their mandates.
The event, witnessed by top government officials, is seen as another step by Governor Aiyedatiwa to strengthen the operational capacity of Ondo State’s public service.
