The Osun State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Corps Commander Leye Adegboyega, fsi, has met with the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Prince) Adewale Olumide Egbedun, to discuss strengthening government support for road safety initiatives across the state.

The courtesy visit, held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at the Assembly complex, provided an opportunity for the Sector Commander to brief the Speaker on ongoing road safety operations, key achievements, and recent incidents — including the assault on an FRSC patrol team.

In his response, Speaker Egbedun commended the Sector Commander for his efforts in improving traffic safety and protecting lives on Osun roads. He condemned the assault incident, describing it as an isolated act by miscreants, and reaffirmed the State Government’s awareness and appreciation of the FRSC’s work.

“We will continue to collaborate on traffic management and security. I will also facilitate a meeting between you and the Governor to further address pressing road safety concerns,” the Speaker assured.

The meeting reflects ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration between the FRSC and Osun State Government in reducing accidents, ensuring traffic discipline, and improving public safety for road users.
