The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen OO Oluyede, has stressed the vital role of logistics and synergy among Combat Service Support (CSS) Corps in sustaining military operations. Speaking during the opening of the Twenty-Sixth Combat Service Support Training Week (CSSTW) 2025, he emphasized that logistics is central to operational success and that troop welfare and readiness remain a top priority.
The week-long programme, themed “Enhancing Synergy Amongst CSS Corps for Effective Service Delivery Within a Joint and Multi-Agency Environment,” focused on enhancing operational efficiency and uniting CSS Corps personnel across the Nigerian Army.
The training included interactive sessions, group brainstorming on thematic issues, and a medical outreach to a host community, providing general health consultations and treatments. Participants engaged in discussions aimed at improving logistics support, strengthening operational outcomes, and fostering collaboration across corps.
The COAS reaffirmed the “Soldier-First” concept, emphasizing that investing in troop welfare and maintaining logistics capacity is key to operational readiness. Commanders were urged to lead by example and continue fostering professional development and operational excellence among personnel.
The 26th Combat Service Support Training Week reflects the Nigerian Army’s commitment to robust logistics, troop welfare, and effective operational coordination, ensuring personnel are prepared to meet the nation’s complex security challenges.
