
The Commandant General of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Professor Ahmed Abubakar Audi, mni, OFR, has reaffirmed the Corps’ commitment to safeguarding Critical National Assets and Infrastructure across the country.
The statement follows the deployment of a tactical team to the scene of a Kaduna-bound passenger train derailment, which occurred at KM 49 between Kubwa and Asham stations along the Abuja-Kaduna Rail Corridor, carrying 618 passengers.
The NSCDC CG, accompanied by other security stakeholders, conducted an on-the-spot assessment of the accident site and called for the implementation of measures to ensure the rail corridor remains safe and accident-free.
Professor Audi commended the Managing Director of the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Dr. Kayode Opeifa, for his dedication, emphasizing that the NSCDC will hold accountable anyone caught sabotaging railway installations.
The Corps continues to focus on civilian protection, emergency rescue operations, and disaster management, in line with its statutory mandate.
