
Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to protecting the lives and property of all residents, regardless of their religion, ethnicity, or cultural background.
The assurance came during a meeting with the Sarkin Hausa in Ondo State and representatives of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN) in Akure on Friday, September 5, 2025.
Governor Aiyedatiwa praised the Hausa community for contributing to the relative peace in the state, urging residents to maintain harmony, promote unity, and avoid actions that could damage their reputation. He also stressed that security is a shared responsibility, and that his government remains committed to providing adequate protection for everyone.
Alhaji Jamiu Ekungba, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), described the meeting as an initiative to promote religious tolerance, strengthen security collaboration, and foster unity among communities.
The Speaking on behalf of the community, Abdulsalam Musa, Secretary to the Sarkin Hausa in Ondo State, called for enhanced social amenities, including health centres, and sought formal recognition for Hausa monarchs in the state.
Other dignitaries at the meeting included the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti; Commander of Amotekun Corps, Mr. Adetunji Adeleye; Sarkin Hausa leaders from 18 local government areas; and Chief Imam of Akure, Alhaji Yayi Akorede.
